From Rib Cook-Offs to National Sauce Competitions

Fox & Hound has earned recognition at numerous rib competitions over the years, but one award holds a special place in our story.

At the 2015 Great San Juan Bautista Rib Cook-Off, Fox & Hound BBQ took first place using the sauce that would eventually become our Sweet Heat BBQ Sauce.

After years of serving our sauces at our family-owned Lake Tahoe smokehouse, we officially launched the bottled Fox & Hound BBQ sauce line in fall 2025. Today, our Mild, Sweet Heat and Vinegar sauces are competing—and winning—on the national level.

2026 NBBQA Awards of Excellence

Silver Award — Second Place

Sweet Heat earned our first national award after the launch of our bottled sauce line, receiving a Silver Award from the National Barbecue & Grilling Association.

Vinegar BBQ Sauce

2026 American Royal World Series of Barbecue

Fourth Place

Our Vinegar BBQ Sauce earned fourth place at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, one of the most recognized names in competitive BBQ.

Bright, tangy and full of flavor, this West Coast-style vinegar sauce cuts through rich smoked meats without overpowering them. It is an excellent match for pulled pork, chicken, sandwiches and grilled vegetables.

Fox & Hound has been serving guests at the top of Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, Nevada, since 1991. Our sauces were developed through decades of cooking BBQ, entering competitions and serving guests at our Lake Tahoe smokehouse.

The bottled sauce line may be new, but the recipes, experience and passion behind it are not.
